There is no disputing that if you want to manage your own business or online presence, you will definitely need a website. When people are interested in anything, the first thing they do is go to the Google search engine and type their search queries, and if your website is found on page one with those search queries, you will definitely get a new website visitor from Google search (organic traffic).

For example, in the above screenshot, I ranked the second position on the first page of Google for the search query “Paypal Referral Program 2022,” which drives 210 USA monthly traffic to my website according to Ubersuggest.

One of the most difficult problems new marketers have is determining strategies on how to get traffic to their website or affiliate links. How do you get people to read your content?

You can generate traffic to your website for free by relying on organic traffic, or you can invest in ad campaigns and e-mail marketing campaigns.

I’ll focus on one method, in particular, that is completely free. This method is not a secret; it is used by the most successful marketers, and I’m also a beneficiary, as you can see in the above screenshot.

The Traffic Bumper

From social media to Q&A websites to YouTube, you have a plethora of options for driving traffic to your website.

Among the numerous options, I will discuss six of the most useful and free websites. Using these websites in combination, you will drive hundreds of thousands of visitors to your website each month.

So follow up with me as I mention these awesome websites:

  1. Linkedin
  2. Quora
  3. Medium
  4. Mix
  5. Pinterest
  6. Tumblr
  7. Slideshare

The reason for using these websites to publish your content is simply because they are so popular in terms of traffic. Each of these websites receives hundreds of thousands of visitors per day. As a result, people will be able to find your content much more easily with the help of these platforms.

1. Linkedin

First and foremost, there is Linkedin. Linkedin now has over 675 million users and receives over a billion visitors per month! So, if you don’t already have an account, I recommend you create one right away.

You have the option of writing articles on Linkedin. Assume you already have an article that you want to promote; all you have to do is copy it and paste it into your Linkedin profile. It will only take a minute!

Linkedin article posting

Do not post links on your wall. Again, Linkedin allows you to write articles. Simply copy and paste your article onto your wall or into a group in which you participate.

2. Quora

Then there’s Quora. According to Wikipedia, 590 million unique people visited Quora each month in 2020. Consider how much potential attention your content would receive if you shared it on Quora, and how much traffic your website would receive as a result. You can confirm it HERE

As you can see in my Quora account, I have 50.8k content views and 16.8k this month alone, and I’m also active in 7 Quora spaces related to my niche

Spaces on Quora

On Quora, you can create your own space or contribute to as many spaces as you want. You can find a space for almost anything; therefore, look for spaces related to your website’s topic or create one if none exists.

You can paste your articles or snippets of them there, creating featured images with Canva to make them look appealing. Again, it won’t take long!

Posting on Quora

It goes without saying that you should include hyperlinks to your website’s actual content. People will be compelled to read your articles if they are appealing enough. And if your content is valuable, they will be more likely to visit your website to see more of it. Check out this article on how to use Quora to drive traffic to your site

3. Medium

Furthermore, Medium receives over 200 thousand visits per month. You can publish your articles on Medium if you don’t have your own blog. It is designed specifically for articles. As a result, you can treat your Medium profile page as if it were your own blog.

Medium makes no distinction between long-standing members and newcomers. That means Medium’s algorithm will recommend your content to people who have never heard of you. Basically, making it easier to build your audience from the scratch.

Following the creation of your profile, you can begin searching for content that is relevant to yours. You can follow people who write about topics that interest you, just like you can on other platforms. You must first make yourself visible before you can begin to gain followers. To do so, I recommend that you follow people, get to know their work, and engage them by commenting on their posts on a regular basis.

Posting Article on Medium

You can write stories after becoming acquainted with the platform and drawing inspiration from other people’s content. Stories are essentially articles; you can create a new one from scratch or copy and paste one from your blog.

4. Mix

“Mix is a new personalized discovery platform that unlocks more of the internet you care about,” according to the company. Mix receives over 1 million views per month. Mix can help you get more exposure for your content from an audience that you would not normally reach. Mix, formerly known as Stumble upon, is a relatively new platform. It makes it simple to discover, share, and create content with others.

Make a preface mix

On Mix, publishing your article will take even less time; all you have to do is paste your link, and the website will redirect people to your content on your website. Simply click the plus icon next to your profile, paste the link you want to share, and Mix will take care of the rest.

5. Pinterest

Pinterest is also a visual discovery platform where you can find ideas, recipes, home styling inspirations, and much more. Pinterest is a powerful tool because people use the search function on Pinterest more than they do on Facebook or other social platforms. As a result, your article is very likely to be found.

Increasing traffic with Pinterest pins: One feature of Pinterest that makes it ideal for marketers is that it not only allows but also encourages the use of outbound links. Don’t be intimidated if you’re new to Pinterest; it’s very user-friendly.

Creating Pinterest pins

You’ll be able to create pins on your profile. Pins are structured similarly to Instagram stories. You can choose an image or a series of images in a specific order, as well as include a brief description to let people know what your content is about. And don’t forget to include links to your pins that should direct users to your actual article. You can use Canva to resize your images so that they will fit on a Pinterest pin.

I used Canva to design my pin because you don’t need a credit card to start with.

6. Tumblr

Tumblr is a microblogging and social networking website that was founded in 2007 by David Karp and is now owned by Automattic. Users can use the service to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog. Users can subscribe to other users’ blogs. Bloggers can also set their blogs to be private. Many of the website’s features are accessible to bloggers via a “dashboard” interface.

Tumblr hosts over 475 million blogs as of August 12, 2019. The website had over 500 million monthly visitors in January 2016, which had dropped to less than 400 million by August 2019.

Tumblr was created in 2006 during a two-week break between contracts at David Karp’s software consulting firm, Davidville (which was housed at Karp’s former internship with producer-incubator Fred Seibert’s Frederator Studios, which was located a block from Tumblr’s current headquarters).

Karp had been interested in tumblelogs (short-form blogs, hence the name Tumblr) for a while and had been waiting for one of the established blogging platforms to launch their own tumblelogging platform.

7. Slideshare

Finally, Slideshare is a professional content hosting service that hosts presentations, infographics, documents, and videos. It takes a little more time to use Slideshare. You can upload a simplified version of your article as a PDF in the form of a slide to Slideshare.

Posting on Slideshare.

You can sign in to Slideshare using your Linkedin account. As I previously stated, using Slideshare will take a little more time because it only allows you to upload files as PDFs.

    1. Thanks for your comments Ali.
You don’t post the whole article on medium. What I usually do is that, I will rewrite the same article with about 200 words and them post it on medium with my link to the original content on my blog. Sometimes if don’t have strength to rewrite, I will copy the original content about the first 50 word paragraph and paste it on medium including the link.

      Hope you understand?
